lecture 7
In todays lecture we looked at shadows and product photography. As part of our project we have to produce three still life photographs so it was definitely important to look at product photography. Below are some examples of shadows within still life/product photography.
the first has very dark contrast shadows which overpowers the image and creates an air of uncertainty around the product (in this case vegetables). The second image is better than the first but it still has some shadow over the middle of the vegetables. This shadow is distracting to the viewer as they can't clearly see the whole product. thy might feel like something is being hidden, therefore thinking of the brand as dishonest. The third and final image is a lot better and doesn't have any distracting dark casting shadows over the product. it is clear, visible and prestige, giving the impression of a healthy, light and professional product.
